    Similar to the other reviewers, I had this on vhs from my mom when I was in high school..even then, in my teens, it worked! I still use this to get toned & lose inches. I also discovered the updated video callanetics extreme..which has most, maybe all, of these exercises & MORE! It’s also nice cause it’s not such an ooold video that I’m not super embarrassed of letting my husband see me doing. Haha

    I loved this on VHS and am excited it is now on iTunes. It was effective 20 years ago and still effective now. Surprising because it is not the standard aerobic workout, but extremely effective and deals with back and other joint infirmities.

    I had a VHS tape of Callanetics back in the early 90s (when I was in my 20s and was fantastically fit without the need for exercise because I was young, active, and vegetarian). Still, I did this back then and loved it. 20 years later, I’m so thrilled to find it available on iTunes. I’ve been a yoga instructor for many years now and recommend Hatha Yoga for every body, but the isometric-style exercises found in Callanetics are incredibly effective, safe, and when done properly, challenging (even for someone who is physically fit). I’ve a hard time fitting in a 90 minute yoga class at my local studio, so this video (and the AM/PM Callanetics which is shorter), really works for me, both in terms of schedule and efficacy. If you want to get strong and flexible in a safe, focused way, download this immediately. Yes, the clothing is dated and the music kind of cheesy, but just pretend you are time traveling to the 80s/early 90s. You will not regret it - this is the sort of exercise I can envision doing for a lifetime - I expect to be rocking a bikini when I’m 80 thanks to Callan (sorry if that imagery offends…).

    I have been doing Callanetics for years now. My mom actually gave me her VHS copy a long time ago. I was very excited when I found out I could download it on my iPad. This video truly works. It's a bit outdated but is very effective. Love it.

    I was going to Oahu and wanted to fit in my skinny shorts, which I was about a dress size and a half too big for. I did this tape everyday (27 days straight) and was able to wear them by the trip! I love seeing the progress in my flexibility and strength. Bonus: back pain goes away from a strong core. I've had the VHS version forever and it is great to be able to replace it on iTines so I can have the counter with me wherever I'm at.

    Ok, so you'll feel absolutely ridiculous when you do this but it's working. I've only done two sessions (got it last Friday) and have already lost 6 inches all over my body. Imagine the review I could write in a month!? I have read a lot about the other videos but am going to stick with this for at least one month.. I'm hoping to master the moves before a "upgrade".
