Description

Elementary follows eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes, as he is forced by his wealthy father to live with his worst nightmare: a sober companion. Dr. Watson was a successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her medical license four years ago. She sees her current job as another opportunity to help people, and as penance for her past. Sherlock is convinced that his own post-rehab regimen--resuming work as a police consultant--is better than any of the help Watson can provide, and she has no choice but to accompany him on his jobs. Her medical background proves helpful, and Watson soon realizes a knack for investigation. In Season Two, the pair has made a name for themselves as a successful crime-solving duo that can crack the NYPD’s most impossible cases. They’ll return to solve mysteries from the past, get mixed up with the mob, and come face to face with their greatest adversaries.

Apart from just loving Lucy, this is a great TV series, I love recording and sitting down to a nice marathon. Love the acting, love everything about it, especially Lucy ;)
  • Terrible, insulting and worst of all, boring

While a fan of sherlock based characters in general, I've found that the script writers, casting director, and prop team have been taking far too many liberties with this show. When building a story around a character for whom details are of utmost importance, the use of lazy filler props (I cite watson shredding crossword and sudoku puzzels as "case file" material as one of many examples) This crime against the genius of the source character is complemented with cheap "twists" of the origional characters to make it edgy (Ensler being moriarty, or only slightly better, having been forced to pretend to be him) and a rather simple portrayal of sherlock's dependancy on watson as a rather boringly simple substance dependancy issue make the show come across as more of a half assed attempt to cash in on the revival of the doyle stories. Lastly the fact that the writers have occasionally had to dumb down sherlock (make him miss things that he likely wouldn't have) to make watson seem useful is just as insulting. Simply put, this show is using the prestige afforded to the character of sherlock to justify a generic and poorly executed "cop show" with equally generic crimes, motives and personal relationships.

This is a smart, funny program with great acting, a wonderful script, and a cast where you really like every character. The relationship between Holmes and Watson is amazing and watching them together is really a delight. Love it!
  • Watson/Liu brings the show WAY down...

Can barely tolerate Watson/Liu in season 2. She has one expression and is so flat and uninteresting. It's made worse by the great acting by Jonny Lee Miller and supporting cast gregson/bell. Can't they drop her and bring in an actress who would create some interest/tension? Don't know if I can continue to watch, it's too painful.

Moriarty will be the ruination of this series. Every time she returns, the plotting becomes more contrived and implausible, and in this episode it was simply ludicrous. I have been enthralled by Elementary, but if it continues in this vein, I'll be giving it up.

i think that there should be more romantic scenes between Joan and Sherlock rather than it all being about solving cases, and oh Sherlock is HOOOTTTTTTT
  • Amazing! Best show.

These writers are some the most genius people in the whole world. I’ve been watching this since Episode 1 of Season 1, and I can proudly say I have no intention of stopping at any time. Each episode keeps me involved and I can happily say I’ve tried to use the powers of deduction in my own, real life :)
