The multi-talented Ashton Kutcher, whose success spans film, television and social media, joins the cast of the Emmy® Award–nominated Two and a Half Men as the hit comedy series returns for its ninth season, continuing the laughs about men, women, sex, dating, divorce, mothers, single parenthood, surrogate families, money and, most importantly, love. Playing Internet billionaire Walden Schmidt, Kutcher (That ‘70s Show) joins Jon Cryer as the tightly wound Alan Harper, Angus T. Jones as Alan’s laidback son, Jake Harper, Holland Taylor as Alan’s narcissistic mother, Evelyn Harper, Marin Hinkle as Alan’s neurotic ex-wife Judith Harper and Conchata Ferrell as the brash and blue-collar Berta on the top-rated series. Revamped and re-energized, the newly “manned” sitcom was created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn.

In a way Ashton Kutcher saved the show from being cancelled after Sheen left. His character freshens the show up and adds room for crazier storylines. Still a great show!

Even though I must admit I'm probably one of the very few persons who did not watch the Season with Charlie Sheen. Therefore I started to watch this show "fresh" from Season 9 and love it. It's very funny and entertaining with still quite some style. Thumbs up for Ashton Kutcher and the cast.
  • Surprise: the show has not declined in any way with Ashton

I haven't watched the new episodes for a long time since Charlie Sheen dropped out. Couldn't imagine Ashton in his role - yes, originally I thought he would simply replace Charlie Sheen in the role as Charlie. General press was pretty bad on Ashton so I din't consider it worth to look into it. Then I ran out of BBT and HIMYM, so I watched the pilot of season 9 and downloaded the whole season. And I have to say, it is as hilarious as ever! I had to laugh out loud several times, and I really like to see how Ashton impersonates the guileless, clumsy child and the pretty billionaire at the same time. I'm back to addiction!
  • Great

I totally hate two and a half men now. Ashton Kutcher just reuined it. Charlie Sheen made the show, and when they took him off, the show krumbled.
  • Got stupider and stupider

First the obvious, I preferred Charlie Sheen. When I heard about the drugs, I wondered what would happen, I knew they would replace him, so I kept an open mind, than I heard they chose Ashton Kutcher. I would have liked to see someone who could act, but Kutcher cannot. So first episode has some funny jokes, Charlie Harpor's funeral was pretty entertaining. Alan has some funny comments. When Kutcher is introduced, the he is written as a combination of Jake and Alan. He has some funny remarks, until he tries to be a new Charlie Sheen, he's not good at it. Second episode, very stupid, the only funny part was the reckless driving. Third episode focuses on Jake, before he becomes a pothead and is a pretty good episode. Fourth episode has moments, than the show goes down hill with terrible script writing and terrible acting. The good episodes are 3,8 and 9. Others are ruined, because Kutcher's character is not very intelligent but occasionally delivers(other characters are far worse). His girlfriend and his ex-wife are pretty dull. Jake is turned into a pothead, and now they overplay the fact that he's a dumba**. Eldridge was never a great character but the others used to provide some funny jokes, now he is overplayed. Lindsey is turned into a drunk, and a drug addict. Berta is good but underplayed. Rose gets two scenes in all, and killed Charlie. Judith and Herb are underplayed, but still great. Alan is ruined by, he was always cheap but I felt sorry for him, he had his redeeming qualities, now he has no redeeming factors, Charlie was family, it was understandable that Alan would look to him. Kutcher(Walden Schmit) invites him to stay, and so does Lindsey, however he still picks off them, he is far cheaper and it's hard to feel sorry for him(he fakes a second heart attack). Schmit's friend is introduced and is occasionally funny, fortunately he's introduced at the end. There are some odd continuity errors. The older seasons had many funny comments, and intelligent comments with occasional stupidity, now it's the opposite. In the end of the last season they exploited Alan's dark side. It was funny, it started to make him harder to sympathize with, but he shows his morality code, and returns the money to everyone. I loved seeing him argue with his dark side. Sure it's cliche but still funny. I would have liked to see more of that.
