Who says cartoons need explosions and intergalactic space travel to entertain? Looney Tunes All-Stars, Volume 2 gets back to the basics … way back. Before there was Bugs Bunny, there was … Beans! Part cat, all imagination, check out this character and many more as 20 beloved classics from the Warner Bros. vault are remastered and released in this collection. These timeless toons will appeal to audiences of all ages as they bring to life the simpler times. Go inside Warner Bros. Studios in “Hollywood Capers,” take a walk with “Little Red Walking Hood” and ski the slopes in “Alpine Antics” — we’re pretty sure this ageless anecdote was the precursor to extreme skiing. Plus, see what happens to one little piggy who loves food just a little too much in “Pigs is Pigs” and if a feline hepcat will ever get his girl in “The Hep Cat.” And “Holiday for Shoestrings” shows what can happen with a little help from little friends. Go ahead, hang with the All-Stars!

  • Yeah Beaky!

Beaky Buzzard is my favorite character ( Second to only Bugs ). I love his British mommy! How about volume 3 with “Aloha Hooey”, “The Big Snooze”, and “Feline Frame-Up”?
  • Not Great, But Does Have Its Highlights

    By mwbarre
Decades of television repeats have made the classic Looney Tunes arguably the most watched film series of all time. Some of the highlights here include "Thugs With Dirty Mugs", a gangster picture spoof with an all-canine cast. (The punishment given to the criminal resulted in this short being banned in Winnipeg upon its original release.) Tex Avery takes a gander at classic fairy tales with "Little Red Walking Hood" and "The Bear's Tale." A single flea wreaks havoc on Elmer Fudd's dog in "An Itch in Time." "Pigs Is Pigs" shows how hard it often is to scare kids straight with morality tales (in this case, a tale of gluttony). The one short here I would not recommend is "Tom Thumb In Trouble", because of its stereotypical Disney-like nature.

  • Classic is always the best.

Nothing better to do than sit back and watch a nice classic. They are so much better than all that junk they show on tv now and days. I wish I was born earlier.
