Description

For years, Bill Henrickson wished for a world free from the corrupt ‘prophet’ of Juniper Creek, Roman Grant. Now that it appears he’s gotten his wish, Bill and his ever-growing family can finally breathe easy…or can they? HBO presents Season Four of this iconic drama series that tells the continuing story of this polygamist businessman (played by Bill Paxton) who lives in suburban Salt Lake City with his three wives (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin) and now-nine children. In Season Four, as a new maelstrom of personal issues swirl around him, Bill launches yet another business venture: a Mormon-friendly casino he planned in Season Three with Native American partners. At the same time, Bill eschews a chance to seize the prophet mantle at Juniper Creek in favor of an even more high-profile calling: running for State Senate in Utah!

Seasons1 & 2 are great but the show has gone downhill since Season 3. Time to stop Bill.

After watching Season 4 for the first time I have to say that it is not nearly as good as the previous seasons. Everything seemed to be rushed, and each episode introduced several new sub plots, but none of them were ever developed. The worst example of this was in the last episode where a major question was posed - did Barb ever really support the idea of bringing polygamy into their marriage, or did she just go along with it because she was afraid she could not make it on her own (without Bill)? I would love to have heard her answer, but I guess we never will... unless it comes in Season 5?

This TV series is very informative on the culture of Mormans, I for one am a polygamist with 7 wives. I also own a casino and can really relate to Bill Hendrickson. I hope more people become polygamist as multiple wives can bring multplie benefits. In today's world Mormans are modernized and do things like shopping at malls and going to see movies. Don't turn your back on polygamists and don't turn your back on this show. You might just learn something new.

People shouldn't rate a show before they've seen it, or write reviews praising Itunes just for posting something. It's not like they made it, or are giving it away, why the gratitude? If nothing else, thank the network for getting with program[ming], but even that's pretty corny... I'm tired of seeing four stars just because people want to act like Pomeranians. Save the yipping and panting for after the show. After the immaculate ratings given to the Walking Dead based on opinions of the graphic series, I'm starting to see who the real zombies are... That said, I bought this season, and while it's pretty contrived and certainly a stretch in terms of accuracy and plausibility, I didn't hate it. It was involving, somewhat interesting, and funny at times. The writer's have a lot of limitations to work around, and work they did. The acting is equally effective, a lot of good source music is used, and the budget doesn't badly outweigh the character's circumstances, which is refreshing. Estranged Mormon grandmother pirating parrots and a fourth wife falling for her husband's eldest son? If that doesn't sound too random, I would recommend this just because the price is right.
