Description

Returning for a fourth season (1978 - 1979), the cast and writers of SNL maintained their reputation for hilarious characters and innovative sketch-comedy creating hits such as the Blues Brothers (John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd), Nick the Lounge Singer (Bill Murray), Candy Slice (Gilda Radner), the Loud Family (Jane Curtin), Fred Garvin: Male Prostitute (Dan Aykroyd), and The Nerds (Bill Murray and Gilda Radner). Other favorites include the return of iconic hosts Steve Martin, (with Dan Aykroyd as the “wild and crazy” Festrunk Brothers) and Buck Henry’s inappropriate "Uncle Roy." The complete fourth season on SNL features classic performances from hosts Fred Willard, Carrie Fisher, Kate Jackson, Milton Berle, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Elliot Gould, Frank Zappa, Gary Busey, and Walter Matthau. Unforgettable musical guests such as Peter Tosh, Mick Jagger, The Doobie Brothers, Bette Midler, Talking Heads, Devo, Van Morrison, The Grateful Dead, Rickie Lee Jones, James Taylor, and the legendary Rolling Stones playing live from studio 8H.

This was a great season of SNL. Lot of great musical guests, yet another Steve Martin episode, and a couple of Buck Henry episodes. However, I read below why isn't Eddie Murphy here? He didn't join until '82 (I think) this is the '79 season (i think) so a few more releases until his SNL work comes out. I hope that answers your question.
  • What Happened To The Best Of Eddie Murphy?

Eddie Murphy did some very funny sketches during his time at Saturday Night Live. I believe it was season 5 (maybe). I'm surprised that there's nothing here featuring him. I hope to see skethes featuring him in the near future.
