Description

Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.

over all pretty disappointing. i love the paranormal horror genre so i was pretty excited about this show. after making it through a few episodes i find it to be rather flat-footed and uninspired. i think one of the ways good horror content builds tension is by what it doesn't show you. the dream demon that starts making regular appearances right from the first episode takes all the wind out of that. i find the whole thing to be a bit dull and not scary at all. but i guess i should have expected as much from cbs. as an aside, i will say that some reviewers here seem to be all worked up over the show taking on some themes of institutional racism and those people need to check their fragile white privilege. it's one of the few things i applaud this series for. unfortunately it's not enough to make me want to keep watching.

Love the storyline. Great pilot episode. Still don’t see the chemistry between the main characters.

It was an interesting premise and the acting isn't bad. During the first episode there was a curious trend that all white men are bad, literally murderers and fathers who abandon their wives and children. All women and minorities are flawless and self sacrificing saints. I was willing to give the show the benefit of the doubt that this was just a coincidence. The second episode literally becomes a social justice crusade where the hapless white male lawyer is saved by the strong independant woman, and a hospital is racist and hates black people. If that's your thing, you'll love this show.
  • So far so good

I get the fact that it’s a show depicting two characters coming together as they investigate supposed miracles, demonic possession, and other extraordinary occurrences. I am trying to get an x-files vibe but the comedy to the show Is dead. I would like to see more action and more creative Investigations. Theirs show can be a hit if show was less Sexual jokes and more story base so I and others can be interested.

I like the premise behind this series. Also being a fan of both Katja Herbers, Mike Coulter and Michael Emmerson means this show could be prettyt darn good. So far impressed, can't wait for the second episode and then even more.
