"Stronger together." That's what Marisol (guest star Valerie Cruz) tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie "Mel" Vera (Melonie Diaz), and her sister, fun-loving Maggie (Sarah Jeffery), about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the women's studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering sorority rush (to Mel's amused dismay) and going "on" again with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Brian (guest star Charlie Gillespie). But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it? Three months later, we find Mel unable to accept the official explanation of their mother's death, while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister – brilliant geneticist Macy (Madeleine Mantock), whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesn't know a soul (except for Galvin (Ser'Darius Blain), the cute fellow scientist who's been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel can't handle another shock, and shuts her out. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others' thoughts and Macy has telekinetic powers. But don't worry, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation...or so says Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans) – who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the women's studies department - when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal they're actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And he's not really a professor, he's their "Whitelighter," a witch's advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mother's death was no accident – she was murdered by unknown dark forces. It's a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones...and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together...even if they have no idea what they're really up against.

  • Great Show!!! keep going

U know it's sad that movies get mad degrading women and it get great reviews but anytime strong women show a little hostility to men for the way they been treated for centuries suddnely there man haters get life. This is a great show with strong women of colour and its better.
  • Better than I thought

So I was unsure about watching the remake, I really liked the original. Just recently there was nothing on tv so I put on Netflix & decided to give it a try & im glad I did. I have read some of the other reviews & 1 of the biggest complaints is that it strays to far from the original & it does, but to me it’s good, it makes it, it’s own show & not so much of a remake. The only complaint I have, is I didn’t start watching sooner lol I hope whoever watches enjoys the show as much as I do ♥️
  • Loved It😉

I’ve saw the first Charmed and I loved it then. This reboot was pretty good can’t wait until season 2. There is no comparison between the two The original charmed was for that generation and this Charmed is for this new generation. It’s worth watching... And don’t let anyone tell you not to watch it because they are pre-judging the show. they’re trying to compare the show to the old one and the characters to the old one wrong decision just watch it and enjoy it

Do not support this adaptation in any way shape or form. The original is better.

    I love this show
  • I love this show! Better than original.

I am a long time Charmed fan so I was skeptical at first. But after a few episodes I was hooked. In my opinion this is better than the original. It fallows similar plot points while also thinking creatively so the show isn’t a play by play of the original. This show is a creative take on the Power of Three, White-lighters, The Elders, and magic itself.
  • So Disappointing

    By MovieLover3039
I was really hoping this would be a good remake but it definitely is not. The characters and sadly to say the actresses playing the charmed ones ended up being more annoying than entertaining. Very disappointing overall. If you want a good witch show watch The Witches of Eastwick, that was a GREAT show with actual talented actors.
  • The Good and the Wicked

Wow… some INCELs really seem to be threatened by this show and its message. Oh my! Furthermore, there are the core fans of the original – who for legit or lesser reasons – seem to be on the fence. That I understand… yes, it would have been better if the original cast was involved somehow, the effects seem to be on par with the budget unfortunately, and the message could be adressed through action more than through social commentary dialogues, agreed. But that is forgetting that the original show came with its own problems as well. On the other hand, it is an unapologetic feminist show, with lots of representation, the actors have great chemistry (there is, of course, room for growth), while you feel the love of detail. So, I hope that in season 2 they will be able to find their balance – more story/character driven with less effects (hence with better effects); but, never-the-less, it is an important show to have since it is effective as a reboot in a time where we crave the nostalgia of days gone by with the sass of a feminist point a view and current political commentary.
  • Unwatchable

Unlikeable characters. Not fun. Bad writing. More about agenda than storytelling. The original was corny but far more entertaining than this show is. I recommend trying the Roswell reboot, it’s far better than this in every way.
  • Beyond trash

    By sapphire chic
Where do I start… Issue is beyond trash. They are trying so hard like I don’t even know where to begin. Is it the way they are whitelighter orbs or the fact that the sisters don’t even look like. I wish I could give it a negative star. The charmed original is the best so you better cancel this trash
