  • Insanely boring, and tedious

    By zidane2015
Do not understand the fuss. Awful writing, sets and FX that make Doctor Who look like an Oscar winner, and long episodes about how to ration tins of beans. This turned out to be a decent sleep-aid. When you find out what is actually hunting these idiots, it beggars belief that it could take down two ships of highly trained sailors and marines. If I see one more styrofoam iceberg I'm going to lose my mind.
  • Riveting Slow Burn

If you enjoyed the book, this show is definitely for you. Much like Simmons’ book (and overall writing style), this show is a slow burn with a lot of focus on long-term character development and setting. They did an excellent job selecting the cast, with some actors/characters that you immediately love, others that grow on you, and some that you really hate. There is a lot of time put into the relationships between characters, which can lead to long periods of dialogue, but its worth it in the long run, and often the people/circumstances can be more monstrous than the creature itself. I’m a huge fan of survival stories with people stranded in snow and ice, so this was perfect for me. Lots of gore too, wince-worthy. About to watch this show for the second time and buying it!
  • Best Series I've Seen this Year

By generous reviewer and a half
Hands down, there are very few series out there that reach the quality of this one. The end of the series felt like it was searching for a way to end a bit. But the first 8/10ths were awesome.

I tried watching these episodes over & over again but kept falling asleep. Very slow dry boring & worst of all not scary at all. The terror is my inability to stay awake during this boring show. If you have trouble sleeping this is your cure.
  • Amazing series.

I am obsessed with this show.
  • Blech, highly disturbing

    By StarWarsMum
Don’t waste your time, it’s a weird story that is gross to watch a lot of the time. I thought it would be a good historical type of show but it’s pretty much about nothing intelligent!
  • Really Good FICTIONALIZED Story

    By DrLoz
They don't claim to be a documentary-drama. Its very good as entertainment, and I would never have expected the show to be an accurate portrayal of historical events. Much like Mad Men wasn't a documentary of the 1960s ad men. Relax and enjoy this good piece of entertainment.
  • What a journey

    By Mangafee
I've never read the book so I didn't know what to expect. Fantastic acting, incredible cinimatography and a compelling story is what I got. It starts out innocent enough... and I really don't want to write more in fear of ruining it for someone that hasn't read the book. Intend to watch the whole thing all over again just for the thrill of the ride.
  • Love it.

It doesn’t need to be explained. It’s realistic and Ridley Scott did a fantastic job. Best show of all time!
