As the world teeters on the brink of World War II, 10 strangers are invited to isolated Soldier Island. Among them are young secretary Vera Claythorne (Maeve Dermody, Serangoon Road), soldier Philip Lombard (Aidan Turner, Poldark), General John MacArther (Sam Neill, Jurassic Park), spinster Emily Brent (Miranda Richardson, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), and Justice Lawrence Wargrave (Charles Dance, Game of Thrones). With seemingly nothing in common, the guests wonder who their mysterious host may be. But the ominous reason for their visit soon becomes clear…and by the end of the night, the first of them is dead. Based on the bestselling crime novel of all time by Agatha Christie, this “TV event of the year” (The Guardian, UK) boasts an all-star cast also including Anna Maxwell Martin (The Bletchley Circle), Toby Stephens (Black Sails), Burn Gorman (TURN: Washington’s Spies), Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), and Douglas Booth (Great Expectations).

  • Bad Agatha Christie Adaptation

This was a big disappointment... the writing/adaptation killed it.
  • Deep, captivating and exciting!

Outstanding actor performance from all of the characters combine with a beautiful backdrop and an eerie mood with disturbing (but not overdone) imagery come together and set just the right tone. I have read the book and seen the original adaptation, and I believe this version is just a better depiction of the story. The score is very well done too, and overall I would say this is worth more than what I paid for.
  • Not the greatest version of this classic

    By Puhiavanui
Although probably one of the darkest stories of Agatha Christie, this version did not capture our imagination and interest. We love all of Agatha Christie’s work and have enjoyed each over the years. We had purchased this based on the reviews of those who wrote and felt terribly let down after viewing the 3 hour show. I felt driven to write this review to balance the overly positive reviews with which we did not agree. This was definitely not the best version of this great story. The show was unnecessarily dark and ventured into unneeded “horror” sequences to trigger the audience. The grim setting of the story and music orchestration was dark and brooding; it was overly dark and ruined the experience for us. The change of the poem from the “The Ten Little Indians” and “Indian Island” to “Ten little Soldiers” and “Soldier Island” although deftly believable was another casualty of today’s political correctness. Overall, disappointed with the show and would not recommend this version of this dark telling of the story.
  • I got sucked into it.

    Well done
  • Very worthy version of my favorite story

This is my favorite novel and I have watched almost all film/TV adaptations. This was is very good, very close to the novel and very detailed. Here's what kept it from getting 5 stars. The judge does not live up to my expectations based on the book or other versions. He does not take the leadership role but merely blends in as one of the group. He is very important to the novel for how he uses his legal mind to help the group sort out the events that are unfolding. That is sorely missed in this version. Kudos on many other facets they got right, but they missed that one by a mile.
  • What an amazing show!

Perfection with a perfect cast. It’s pretty amazing what can be accomplished with a great script, a great custom designer, a great director and a perfect cast. I wanted the TV series to go on forever, so I had to settle for getting the book to read. I plan to see the TV series again, though.
  • Great two-part movie

One of the best murder mysteries! Great cast/characters, suspense, high production value. Perfectly paced, will keep you and your co-watchers excited and guessing until the end. Loved the pre-WW2 England period setting.
  • Good, but overpriced

    By Very Violated
It picks up after a very slow, very English start. All the performances are solid, and it's a great old story shot in a beautiful locale. That said, it shouldn't be more than $7. The budget wasn't high enough to justify $10, and that price tag just limits the audience further. Wait for it on other sites.
  • I loved it!

Easily the best movie version of a great book. The one (tiny) criticism is that they probably should’ve added the ‘note in a bottle’ ending. It’s still a great story.
  • What a great show

Is it only 3 episodes ?
