    This movie is fantastic! Maybe it's because I grew up in Southern California, but everyone I talk to loves this movie. The characters are fantastic, the masks have become a Halloween favorite, and I think it brought extreme sports to the mainstream. Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves have incredible chemistry in this movie. RIP Patrick! Aka The Bodiezaffa!

    Okay, it’s a grab-bag of macho B-movie clichés, but it rocks. The plot twists and turns, shakes and shimmies, and stays just inside the lines of suspended disbelief. Classic conflicts play out in a landscape rich in new flourishes. Some of the photography is memorable. Keanu Reeves gives a solid performance as FBI agent Johnny Utah, and Lori Petty is outstanding as love interest Tyler. Patrick Swayze is wooden half the time, but the other half he’s drop-dead cool, and he’s playing a fantasy archetype, anyhow. If you liked Pulp Fiction; Truth and Consequences, New Mexico; Traffic; Easy Rider; Reservoir Dogs (you fill in the blanks), you ought to like this. If you’re looking for nuance, character development, something that will shake up your value system, trust me: this ain’t it.

    I've been hooked on this movie for years and I'm happy to see it for sale now. Maybe because it had some of my favorite actors, maybe because I grew up in Southern Cal and remember those beach parties, maybe because I like the good guy/bad guy theme and enjoyed the twists, always wanted to sky dive and never did, whatever, the movie worked its way into my soul. Great cast who works really well together, great scope, and excellent plot. I recommend this one!
