Description

An amazing cast is directed by Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, and special guest director Quentin Tarantino. Straight from the pages of Miller's hip series of graphic novels, Bruce Willis stars as a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect a sexy stripper (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as an outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love (Jaime King); and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shellie (Brittany Murphy), who spends his night defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Town girls from a tough guy (Benicio Del Toro) with a penchant for violence. Also starring Elijah Wood, Nick Stahl, Michael Madsen, Carla Gugino and Michael Clark Duncan.

I will never understand what the hype is about with this movie. Yes, it looks beautiful, it’s a comic book come to life like never before, but the story is an absolute JOKE and what’s supposed to be comic relief is just pitiful (for instance: a close-up on Bruce Willis as he randomly burps, for no reason). I can’t believe the ratings that other iTunes users as well as Rotten Tomatoes have given it. The violence is just for shock value, a disgrace to Tarantino’s other incredible action sequences, and the so-called “iconic lines” from Willis and Rourke are completely asinine instead. I spent more of the film rolling my eyes back into my head than I spent engaged in the story. So much respect for Frank Miller, but this just hurts. Quentin Tarantino is my favorite director these days, but I’d rather watch Rodriguez’s Spy Kids franchise than this massive disappointment. If it didn’t take itself so seriously, it would have been fine, but to treat this like some cinematic milestone is just unacceptable. It’s a movie that got laughs out of how awful the performances were and not the actual jokes. Bottom line, it’s too full of itself to have any respect for.

Fabulous entertainment! Fell in love at first sight! I'm just crazy about the visuals, the stories and the characters of this noir world. And I even bought the HD version, which I don't usually do. Even the extras are fantastic. This was so worth it . Crazy good. Just buy it!

Started thinking about turning it off about 5 minutes in. Put it out of its misery about 20 mins in. An incredible waste of electricity.
  • Great story line

One of my favorite movies of all time. Great directing, acting and action throughout the movie. Amazing how the movie ties together, plot is perfect. The variety of characters in the movie diversify the story so well and not the mention the characters are very believable and played well. Definitely a must see for all Tarantino and Miller fans.

This is not oscar winning stuff, but nowadays anything that wins an oscar is not worth watching. This film is just fun entertainment.

Best Bruce Willis movie, in my opinion. I can sure as hell say in was better than 'The Spirit', which sucked.
