Description

From the guys behind Talladega Nights and Step Brothers comes one of the most outrageous comedies of the year! Jeremy Piven (“Entourage”) leads an all-star comedy cast including Ed Helms (The Hangover), David Koechner (Get Smart) and Ving Rhames (I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) in this hilarious look at the rowdy world of competitive car dealerships. Smooth-talking salesman Don Ready (Piven) and his crazy crew of closers have just one weekend to move over 200 cars and prove that when it comes to conning, conniving and all kinds of bad behavior, they’ve got the goods!

  • Strong humor

There are few moments where the plot gets tough to understand but overall is a good movie if you like strong humor, strong topics, cars, and an open mind. If you've seen Entourage, one of these characters will stand out and shine like the series. Never a dull moment from him.

If you've ever had the balls to work straight commissioned sales then this movie is for you. Car salesmen will love it!

I watched this in in the theatre. It was LONG and DULL. Some points were funny, but it often felt awkward and as if they were making things up as they went along...
  • Husband loved it

My husband is a car salesman. I rented this movie for him since some of the guys at work suggested it. He said if are not in car sales the movie won't be funny to you.
  • You Probably Need a Unique (or Liberal) Sense of Humor

Comedy films like 'The Goods' are funny only to certain demographic. Those who fit in that demographic more than likely have absurd senses of humor, which almost translates into "somebody who sees the humor in everything." Just about everything is funny, if you think about it - and to be able to smile and laugh off the most outlandish of situations probably requires an insane amount of optimism. Films like '40 Year Old Virgin' and 'Knocked Up' are assembled with a hundred and one of these jokes and moments that only that special part of the population will laugh at from start to finish. Did the "Know how I know you're gay?" scene make you laugh? What about Paul Rudd's left-field "We can watch Taxicab Confessions" comment? 'The Goods' has an outrageous amount of quotable... ahem, quotes that you and other people like you can sling back and forth at the office for laughs because that's what the movie is good for, in the end. The story is there as an outline for the cast, who was more than likely directed to get to point B from point A the funniest way possible.

I work in a sales environment so this movie to me was extremely funny! Lots and lots of one liners and funny scenes. I think all of the actors hit the nail on the head with each and every character. I spread the word about this movie at work and everyone LOVES it!!!
  • The music is freaking LOUD

I have never seen a movie with the music as loud os this one. When ANY type of music plays in this movie it is literally 5 times louder than the volume of the voice. I can't stand it. The acting is TERRIBLE as well, I know it's a sort of spoof comedy, but even in that regards the acting and some of scenes are crap. I did get a couple good laughs though, but only from Ed Helms.
