They were five students with nothing in common, faced with spending a Saturday detention together in their high school library. At 7 a.m., they had nothing to say, but by 4 p.m. they had bared their souls to each other and become good friends. John Hughes, creator of the critically acclaimed Sixteen Candles, wrote, directed and produced this hilarious and often touching comedy starring Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. To the outside world they were simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess and the Kook, but to each other, they would always be The Breakfast Club.

This has been my favorite movie since I was 5!! I still love it till this day. No matter what walk of life you come from your no better then the next guy. And that what you learn in this movie. Everyone has a purpose, a talent, and a secret. Take the time to discover yours and might just meet the love of your life, a new best friend, or whatever. But yeah! THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING

I often have get togethers at my house & one of the things I like to ask guests is give me your top 5 movies ( I say you’re allowed to have a tie) . this is my no 1 movie and has been : and always will be . 5 complete strangers meet for detention & 1 of the only movies where it’s really shot in 1 room & the actors are wearing the same outfits the entire time. John Hughes is a genius. Long live his legacy. And Ally Sheedy just kicks butt in this !!!
  • Absolutely a historical movie

This movie has meant so much to me and is honestly the greatest movie out. You will laugh, cry and smile at the humorous Bender or the group themselves. They are nothing alike and being stuck together makes this movie so unique because they have to learn to get along. It’s and overall great movie and a classic!!♥️

I love this movie because it really spoke to me. It helped me get through a rough time and speaks on what it is like to be a teenager. Some of those things I’ve gone through and still are. This will always be my favorite movie and will behold a special place in my heart! I love the 80s and this movie really made that era iconic. This movie is part of the reason I’m obsessed with the 80s and determined my job career. BTW, my favorite is the CRIMINAL😍!

I watched this movie 25 years after I had watched it as a kid. I remembered it fondly. MISTAKE! The entire movie is bullying, rebellion, and feeling ugly inside. Wish I would have left it to memory.
