A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

  • Don’t watch

Absolutely dire, dialogue is what I expected from films these days,. Plot thinned down for audiences who have lost the ability to think for them selves, simplified to the point of mediocrity. CGI is no substitute for a good story. Only managed to watch 17 min. Watch the original film if you want to watch a film that leaves you asking questions.
  • Stunning

This film needs watching a couple of times to really appreciate how good it really is!
  • HD?!

How is this only in HD. What the heck. I am absolute sure when I purchased it a few weeks back it was 4K.

    Epic sound and vision
  • Boring and hard to follow

I’ve not read the book, nor seen any previous attempts at bringing it to screen, so I didn’t know what it was about or what the story was. I still didn’t when the credits rolled and had to basically look it up online. Visually spectacular, decent enough performances. Slow and honestly quite boring for anyone not already a fan prior to seeing it.

Very boring, good special effects but so dull.
  • Best film I have seen in some years.

    Can we have more please.
  • Great realisation

The young actors playing Paul and Chani really nail the roles and the rest of the cast are excellent. The ornithopters are the first time I have seen a believable rendition. I have watched it 4 times now just soaking up the visuals. I like the David Lynch and the TV versions as well, as all 3 bring out different understandings of the book.
  • Stunning film

As a big Dune fan of the books and original David Lynch film. This was a masterpiece, I can’t wait for part two.
  • Too long - and there's more to come

The slowest storytelling. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a trilogy, as is the norm today. I understand that the novels are complex, but Lynch didn't do that bad a job in compressing the narrative into 2'15". At 2'35", we are not halfway through yet... The party of friends who watched this with me are not in the least interested in continuing with the sequel(s).
