  • It's A Fine Movie

I watched it two days ago - overall it's an okay movie, a B-movie with some good qualities, it reminded some of the 70's and 80's B-movies, of women seeking for revenge against men. The main actress also played sister's character of Michael Fassbender in the movie "Shame" - she's good playing disturbed women.

“Promising Young Woman” is intriguing and different. Don't be swayed by the trailer that makes you think this is purely a female revenge-flick. Because, well… it is a revenge flick, but it’s not what you’d expect. It’s much more than that. The humor is dark and there is a love story subplot as well. Carey Mulligan is great, and her performance is appropriately nominated for an academy award. If you like darkly comic shows like “Killing Eve” you’ll like “Promising Young Woman.”

This movie has so much potential but something went terribly wrong. The trailer sets you up for a promising thriller but the movie does not deliver. My favorite part was the ending because it meant the movie was finally over. Huge waste of money.

Seriously an excellent movie. If it makes you uncomfortable, you should really take the time to think about why it makes you feel that way.
  • Decent but Disturbing

It is not bad but definitely not what I expected at all after watching the previews. She is hurt after loss and trying to teach every "good" man a lesson, I can appreciate that. The end takes it to a whole new level but the very end makes you realize it was all thought out... but still disturbing.

Best Film of the year and top-shelf cinema: solidly, A thinking person’s movie. It rivals Fargo and American Psycho when it comes to a near-perfect balance of dark comedy and dramatic atmosphere.
