A deep, beautiful, sad meditation on grief and how we are never quite the same person ever again. Horrifying, tragic, and awe inspiring. One of the great films of the decade.

Please give this movie a try. If you enjoy stories that don’t spoon feed you all the answers, you will be pleasantly surprised by this one.

i could talk about the metaphors and sound engineering alone for hours then add in the special effects, the individual layers of self desrtruction at every part of the movie, and that’s without diving into the science of the shimmer and all the affected life inside then the movie hits you with existential dread and leaves you with such intrigue - i don’t think i’ve seen a representation of coming in contact with a 4th or 5th dimensional being like this ever i can absolutely see how some folks wouldn’t be into it but this VERY satisfyingly scratched a specific space sci-fi itch i didn’t even know i had

You know a movie is bad when all the interior lighting in military or science offices is subdued. Story, scripting and some of the acting was just plain weak and disjointed.
  • I loved it despite other bad reviews

I personally enjoyed watching this movie. It was a very interesting movie. With a twist at the end. At the end (the fight in the lighthouse) part could’ve been better executed. I felt maybe that part needed some help.. okay maybe a lot of help. Like change it entirely..But as for the rest of it I really enjoyed it.

I recently watched this film for the first time and at first I wasn’t too sure about it. The beginning was a little predictable but then right when you think you know what’s going to happen the story just takes a very dramatic turn in the opposite direction. I loved seeing Natalie Portman play such an insane role and was very pleased with her performance. I won’t give out spoilers but the ending just completely blew my mind. There is nothing that could have prepared me for that. I’ve watched the movie a few times since the first time I watched it and I still can’t seem to wrap my head around some of the crazy plot twists. The only thing I would change about this film is the possibility of adding more monstrous creatures and/or environments. Over all great film and would definitely recommend! :)

I'm a fan of sci-fi, and I thought Ex Machina was excellent, but this movie was kinda weird.
