So disappointing!! I was so excited to watch this because of the cast. The movie was so boring and had no thrill.

Murder on the Orient Express was a disappointment. The acting however was solid for the most part, and the writing was good for about the first half of the movie. The ending was pretty sad to say the least. Dont waste your time
  • I love this movie.

I love this movie. It definitely makes you think and has a lot of plot twists. I’d watch it again and again and never get bored. 10/10

Beautifully shot, enjoyable cast. Branagh gives Poirot a bit of new dimension. I would not compare it to the book or the other film. It has its own plot changes and pacing. Writing - could be stronger. I purchased this vs. renting and will re-visit it soon.

Now normally, I’m not really crazy about watching Kennneth Branagh direct himself acting. But his acting in this film is just about perfect. That mustache though... Anyway, this movie is absolutely gorgeous to look at. Daisy Ridley once again knocks it out of the park, and Leslie Odom Jr extends his repertoire. Josh Gad proves himself capable of playing a serious role (though I’ve only seen him in Frozen and Beauty and the Beast) and Judi Dench... it’s Judi Dench, man. Come on. 👍 The cinematography is just about perfect. The music is excellent, and the flashbacks in black and white add a really nice touch. I liked that. If you like murder mysteries, Daisy Ridley, or you’re a Kenneth Branagh fan... or all of the above, go watch this movie.

After reading the book (which was excellent), I purchased the movie. The story movies too slowly, the actor playing Poirot doesn't realize how hokey his performance is (I now see he was also the director), and whole the film just feels like a pretentious slog. They took quite a few major liberties with the book (making one character black totally changed the dynamic and introduced race in a way that the story never touched) and the opening scene is just goofy. Is it horrible? No. But considering the source material, it's not good. Recommnedation to avoid.
