Description

2018 ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE. Winner of the Grand Jury Documentary prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Syrian filmmaker Feras Fayyad’s breathtaking work – a searing example of boots-on-the-ground reportage – follows the efforts of the internationally recognized White Helmets, an organization comprised of ordinary citizens who are the first to rush towards military strikes and attacks in the hope of saving lives. Incorporating moments of both heart-pounding suspense and improbable beauty, the documentary draws us into the lives of three of its founders – Khalid, Subhi and Mahmoud – as they grapple with the chaos around them and struggle with an ever-present dilemma: do they flee or stay and fight for their country.

I'd like to send a copy of this to Bashar Al-Assad and all the leaders of the free world. Very moving film. Amazing footage.

Reported by One America News Network: The father, Mr. Omran Daqneesh of the injured Syrian boy whose image prompted outrage across the mainstream media says his son was filmed, and exploited for the sake of propaganda. The picture of young Daqneesh, showing him covered in blood and dust in the back of an ambulance after a bombing in Aleppo last year, was dubbed the “real face” of the Syrian war by officials during Obama’s last term.

One of the most powerful films I've ever watched. This is surely a game changer for documentaries everywhere.

Perfect image of the horror that has been going on for the past few years. To hell with Assad and whoever helped him destroy these peoples' lives just to stay in power.
