The Great Wall

This film is a mess on many levels. The plot is about the Great Wall of China’s defense against an ancient evil. Matt Damon sleep walks through the plot. There is a young woman who plays the General of the Great Wall-she is ok,far better than Damon. Every action film cliche is employed: terribly. The villain I will not describe in case anyone else is dumb enough to rent, let alone buy. The film depends upon CGI and is not done well. Never did I think the villains looked the sligjtest bit realistic. Oh, the colors of the Chinese army’s uniforms,are pretty, all else sucked. In this genre far bette examples such as “Red Cliff” and “13 Assasins” are more interesting and better crafted. “Great Wall” is a big bore. Avoid at all costs, but if you must rent, do not buy. You have been warned.

Watched this while high and took a trip there

To be fair, I have watched and enjoyed terrible movies, but this movie...this movie was just bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. The acting was subpar, the action was flashy but generic, the whole alien monster whatever was just dumb. The best part about this movie was the guy who played Oberyn Martell from GoT and even that wasn't close to saving it. Just skip it.

... And I still can't RENT this schlocky, box office flop, no cash earning Damon flick??!!! How is this even possible on Earth?

The CGI is good, the action is good, the premise is dark and brooding, and the Chinese actors are fun. I honestly think this is a great guy movie. I like it a lot for what it is, not what other people want from it

Yes, that bad, maybe worse. Got nice, kinda cute, animals and the rest is these people on bungees jump-fighting. Truly unbelievable someone read this script and thought "love it, let's make a movie". They used every one liner from all movies ever made.

Based on the reviews I wasn't expecting much but this was nuts. It's a completely off-the wall, over-the-top creature feature with the most outrageously stylized army I have ever seen. It's all completely absurd and actually quite dazzling to look at. The performances are as flat as a comic book but it is a comic book so I didn't care. It was ludicous... and I was very entertained.

Poor CGI. Bad writing. Predictable. Skip this one.
