In New York, with all her friends off to distant places for the holidays, Beth finds herself alone with nothing to do; so she decides to go back to her quaint hometown which she couldn't wait to leave years earlier. To everyone back home, Beth is seen as a star, making her way on The Big Apple theatre scene, but she discovers that life back home has moved on quite nicely without her. The ex-boyfriend she left behind with a broken heart has started a new life with her former best friend and she soon finds herself longing for her past. As she begins to rediscover the magic of the small town and rekindle a friendship with her childhood best friend, Dean, she realizes that the life she left behind years ago may be the dream she never realized she wanted.
